I think Claire is ready for Halloween

You can get a preview of some of her Halloween outfits but the costume will have to wait until Friday! Let me know if you are going to be around Friday night for an extra trick-or-treater?

Thanks for the shirt Grandma & Grumpy Snider :-)

Forget looking at the camera - the TV is much more fun! Thanks Cindy and Ray - we had no trouble getting this 0-3 month outfit on Claire!!

If there are any other candle lovers out there, here is a coupon you might be able to use before November 4th!

TECWAE

Halloween is Coming

A cabbie picks up a Nun. She gets into the cab, and notices that the
VERY handsome cab driver won't stop staring at her.

She asks him why he is staring. He replies: 'I have a question to ask,
but I don't want to offend you.'

She answers, ' My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am
and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear
just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or
ask that I would find offensive.'

'Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me.'

She responds, 'Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have
to be single and #2, you must be Catholic. '

The cab driver is very excited and says, 'Yes, I'm single and Catholic!'

'OK' the nun says. 'Pull into the next alley.'

The nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make a hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying. 'My dear child,' said the nun, 'Why are you crying?'

'Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess; I'm married and
I'm Jewish.' The nun says, 'That's OK. My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween
party
.'

Thought y'all might like to see these!!    Meme

Claire attended her first Clemson Club football viewing on Saturday. Of course we had to dress her up in Clemson gear. She is going to her first football game on November 1st when Clemson plays at Boston College. Let's hope the weather cooperates with us!
A smile because she turned 4 months! :-) I can't believe how quickly the time flew by.
"Mom - Are you serious? I am not going to roll over for you, just because everyone is watching! Now, get that camera off me"

Does it get any more peaceful than this?
And, last but not least.... Can we take bets on who is having more fun here?

Restaurant.com

For those of you who haven't heard of it, Restaurant.com sells $25 gift certificates for $10. There are catches like you have to use it during the week, sometimes there is a minimum cost, you can only use one per visit, and sometimes alcohol can't be purchased on them but they normally still a good deal.

The other day my friend sent me a note saying that they were all on sale 80% - making a $25 gift certificate available for $2...but the coupon has expired so I didn't get the great deal so I paid the full $10 but NOW they are on sale again.

Use the details below to get $25 for $4. There are lots of good restaurants in the Sprinfield area like Delany House, the Federal Club, the restaurant outside the Basketball Hall of Fame, etc.

Check it out!

My Tuesday laugh

You all know I like to share my stories, and I thought this one was cute. Every Tuesday I volunteer at a local school to help a little girl read during her lunch hour. Our company sponsors the program, so I can just walk over during her lunch break. Last year, Maria was in 2nd grade and I was lucky enough to get her as my partner again this year. Yesterday I picked out the book to read - I always loved this book!

Summary of the book - Strega Nona hires a guy to help around the house. She has a secret pasta pot that no one can touch, but the guy hears her magic words to start making the pasta and then again the words to stop making the pasta. But, the guy didn't see her blow the three kisses that are needed to stop making the pasta. So, he is watching the house one day and decided to make the pasta, but he can't stop it from coming and the pasta takes over the village. As punishment, he has to eat all the pasta so Strega Nona can sleep in her bed that night. At the end it shows him in the village - nice and fat! It was at this point that Maria looked at me and said out of nowhere - that is what you looked like the last time we read! I almost fell out of my chair...

October weekend fun!

Every Columbus Day Weekend I feel like we should be baking bread, but we aren't, so we had to find something else to occupy our long weekend.

Claire is doing much better with tummy time. You can see that she is lifting herself up much higher and has rolled over from her stomach to her back multiple times. We have to put the soft mat down now because once she rolls over she lets her head fall back onto the hardwood floor.
Another tummy time picture - I think she is saying Mom, why are you doing this to me?
Sunday we went pumpkin picking with a group of new moms from Hoboken. The weather was perfect - 70 and sunny. We had a great time even though Claire had no idea what we were doing. It's all for the photo op.
This one is for Aunt Jean!

Some of the pumpkins were bigger than Claire. This should be more fun next year! And you wonder where she gets those big blue eyes from???

Just a smiley little girl.
Check out Claires baby page for a couple of videos!

Happy Friday

Even with the markets in the crapper, Clemson's terrible showing last night, things are still good. Great weather here in NYC and looking forward to a nice weekend. Hope everyone is doing good.

Our lovely economy :-)

If you had purchased $1,000 worth of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you would have $49.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 worth of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have $33.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 worth of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago, you would have $0.00 today.

BUT ... if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for a recycling refund, you would have received $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment strategy is to drink heavily & recycle. It's called the 401-Keg Plan.

One of my favorites...

Who doesn't like something for free? I added a link to the side bar for a fun website - Absurdly Cool Freebie Finder. Everyday they update with different types of freebies. You just sign up to receive the ones you want. Make sure you always check the box saying you do not want to receive more information from the companies, then you won't get junk mail - I promise.

Enjoy!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful fall weekend - finally the weather is turning on us. And I bet those of you farther north than us are enjoying some beautiful colors on the trees. (Now wouldn't those be some good pictures to post on the blog!!)

Don't forget to check out this request from Paul. He is running a half marathon this weekend to raise money for cancer and needs our help!

And of course, I leave you with pictures of Claire... We love to read (although this book was a little long for her attention span!)
I think she is saying Give me my pacifier back

The shirt says it all - yes, I'm cute - it's OK to look!

I hope everyone has a great week - any suggestions for Halloween costumes for Miss Claire? And what is everyone else going to dress up as - Emma, Paige, Joey....

Claire Updates

Things are finally settling down with us (meaning Dan can walk, and Claire and I are no longer sick!) so we have had some time to play with our new camera

This is Claires least favorite part of the day - tummy time! This must have been as soon I put her down because once she is down it doesn't take long for her to start drooling and screaming.
Kristin and Andrea were around this weekend to help Dan and I take care of ourselves and Claire. Kristin had bought Claire this outfit before she was born and she never wore it because it was too big. Well, with a little modification for the cooler weather, (add tights!), we were able to get her in it, although the skirt still falls off if you hold her up.
Saturday we went shopping because Claire is still in 0-3 month clothes and we don't have a lot of clothes warm enough to send her to day care. Who would have thought we would need long pants in that size? My easy solution was to buy her jeans that would match any long sleeve onesies she has. Well, Little Miss No Waist doesn't even fit in the 0-3 month jeans - as soon as Dan moved his hand they were around her ankles again! By the time they do fit, they will probably be too short.

So, I am having a bad hair day - what do you want me to do about it??
She either looks at the camera or smiles, we don't usually get both. I don't know why her hair looks so red in all the pictures....

The Aunties gave Claire a bath and she loved it!
Finally, a smile and a look - this one makes it all worth it!
