Mommy likes to show off Claire :-)

Well, we are settling in at home. Claire sleeps like a champ which gives Dan and I a chance to catch up on our sleep as well. Once we put her down we have to set an alarm to wake her up in the middle of the night to feed her and then she passes out again until I wake her in the morning to eat. I am sure this won't last long, but we are enjoying it while it lasts!

We have already been to the pediatrician twice and to the hospital once for blood work. Claire cried when they did the blood test, but was fine as soon as I picked her up again. Same thing with her Hepatitis B shot - half a second of tears and then she was fine. Her slight jaundice seems to be much better today, and the pediatrician wasn't worried, so why should we?

Here are some more pictures...I can't help it if we find the need to take tons of pictures :-)

Grandma has been a huge help! But she also needs her rest, and what better way to get it than with Claire on her chest?

Swaddle? This girl can break her hands free in about 2 seconds! She loves to sleep with her arms above her head. This is how we usually find her in the cradle.
Dressed up to head to the pediatrician for the first time. Her outfit was a little big (or maybe Claire is just little)
This picture was taken Tuesday night. I don't know if you can tell, but her hair keeps getting lighter and lighter. I know there are a lot of pictures with her eyes open, but that is rare. She is a sleeper like her Mommy!
Claire loves her daddy (and his hair cut!)

More Claire...

What a great weekend! Dan & Mere & Claire came home early this afternoon from the hospital. They had a few visitors stop by but mostly just rested. Grandma made all of us dinner before we dropped Kristin off at the airport. When we left the Snider family was resting comfortably and now Grandma and I are getting settled as roommates for a while :) I just finished uploading some pictures in to the ofoto account but wanted to share some of my favorites!

Day 2

Here are some more pictures from the hospital. Below is Claire with Meredith post bottle, I believe.

This is the view of Manhattan from our room.

Andrea made it into town around 3:00 on the 20th.
This is just me posing with Claire. I think this one got me a smirk from Meredith.

Me sitting with Claire.

Kristin made it into town around 9:00 PM or so on the 20th. She was glad to finally be able to meet Claire.
Claire likes to play with her hands when they're not in a blanket. She is always trying to get them into her mouth or up into the air.

Here are her tiny feet. They're about as long as my index finger. She has some long toes though.
Meredith giving the bottle. I don't think she spit this one back up.

Me holding Claire after the bottle from Meredith.

Close-up shot.

I don't think this one needs any description.

Claire getting some shut eye.

More to come later. I'm on my way back to the hospital.

Here are some pictures!!

As you all know, Claire was born this morning. Meredith was pushing for about 3 hours until she finally made her grand entrance. It took so long since she was facing the wrong way - but it doesn't matter any more! She's here! And now with the pictures!

Sorry that the pictures are in sort of backward order, but oh well!

CHS is here...for real this time!!!

CHS is here!!! Claire Louise Snider was born at 1:43 this morning. She was 7 lb and 4 oz, 20 inches long. Mommy and Baby are resting in the hospital and hopefully Daddy is catching a nap! Claire was able to meet Pipere before he leaves for Germany this afternoon. I am about to leave from the CApe and Kristin flies in tonite to meet her. We are all very excited! I'll try to put some pictures up when I get there!

Meet CHS

Just Kidding!!! But we will be meeting her soon. For those of you who don't know Mere went into labor this morning. She started having contractions at 4AM and went to the hospital when they were 6 minutes apart before Noon. She is now all set up and has her epideryl and is resting as comfortably as possible in the hospital. The nurses said they hoped to see this baby born before before her shift ends at 11PM. Grandma and Pepere are at the hospital with Dan and Mere and Auntie Kristin is flying down in the morning. I am SUPPOSED to be walking in Relay for Life on the Cape tomorrow and I drove down Wednesday night and I'll be driving back in the morning. (Mere now owes me 2 vacation days and her doctor owes me 2 tanks of gas for telling us she was going to deliver late!!!) We think that CHS just wanted to meet her Pepere before he leaves for Germany!!!

We'll keep you updated!!!

Coming down the homestretch...

Well, Dan & I are finally coming down the homestretch and I thought we would share a few pictures with you in case you haven't see our other webpage.

The nursery is all set and ready to go. Here is the crib with the bedding that I absolutely love! We finally got the wall hangings up two nights ago!
This cradle will be Little Miss Snider's first sleeping place. It is all set up in our bedroom - now we just need the baby!

The very important coming home from the hospital outfit (assuming it fits!). We had an ultrasound yesterday and they said she is about 7lb 4oz and should gain an average of .5 lb for every week we have left. I really hope she is not that big, but we will know soon enough! Everything else looked good in the ultrasound, she was sleeping like a baby and didn't want to wake up for the technician, but after about 15 minutes of prodding at my stomach, she came around.
We are really excited and can't believe she could be here any day now. I head back to the doctor today to see how I am progressing. Being home all day is really over rated - I find myself bored a lot of the time! We will keep everyone posted....hope everyone is doing well! I will leave you with my latest fat picture...

Skinny Dipping...

An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach  trees. One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over. He grabbed a five-gallon bucket  to bring back some fruit.
As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.  As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.   He made the women aware of his pre sence and they all went to the deep end One of the women shouted to him, ând we're not coming out until you leave!
The old man frowned, I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked. Holding the bucket up he said, I'm here to feed the alligator.
Some old men can still think fast !!

CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Little Zachary was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything: tutors, mentors, flash cards, special learning centers. In short, everything they could think of to help his math.

Finally, in a
last ditch effort, they took Zachary down and enrolled him in the local Catholic school.

After the first day, little Zachary came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't even k iss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread out all over the room and little Zachary was hard at work.

His mother was amazed. She called him down to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done, he marched back to his room without a word, and in no time, he was back hitting the books as hard as before.

This went on for some time, day after day, while the mother tried to understand what made all the difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit the books.

With great trepidation, his Mom looked at it and to her great surprise, little Zachary got an "A" in math. She could no longer hold her curiosity. She went to his room and said, "Son, what was it?

Was it the nuns?"

Little Zachary looked at her and shook his head, no.

"Well, then," she replied, "was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms? WHAT WAS IT ALREADY"

Little Zachary looked at her and said, "Well, on the first day of school when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around."

Senior Ball

Last night we had our Senior Ball at school and here is a picture of me with my two dates, Rory on the left and Dominique on the right. It was a really nice party with good food, a band, and then a dance party with an awesome DJ. All of my close friends at school went and we had a blast! We got there around 9 and stayed until 12:30 and left with hurting feet from dancing so much. I love being a senior!

Now starts my last week of classes and its really almost over. Part of me can't wait, part of me hopes it will never end.
