Senior Ball

Last night we had our Senior Ball at school and here is a picture of me with my two dates, Rory on the left and Dominique on the right. It was a really nice party with good food, a band, and then a dance party with an awesome DJ. All of my close friends at school went and we had a blast! We got there around 9 and stayed until 12:30 and left with hurting feet from dancing so much. I love being a senior!

Now starts my last week of classes and its really almost over. Part of me can't wait, part of me hopes it will never end.

Peace Corps Update

After a long long waiting period, I finally heard something from the Peace Corps about my medical forms. I am now medically cleared! However, I have restrictions. I can only go to asthma safe countries. So that means countries without a lot of pollution and without things that will triggor asthma. My hope is that I can still go to Africa, but we'll see. Now I'm in another long waiting period while they decide where and when to invite me to a country. Hopefully I will hear by the end of May, but it might not be until August.

Oh yea, and if any of you know of internships or good jobs for this summer in the Springfield area, let me know. I'm on a mission to get a decent job for the summer and have weekends off to bounce back and forth between Vermont, the Cape, and Boston, wish me luck.

I'm jumping on Julie's band wagon for Relay for Life. I will be walking the weekend before Baby Snider joins us in Cape Cod with my friends in memory of Grandma Calnen and Gary Dineen and in support of everyone in our lives affected by cancer.

Since we started doing Relay as a group in 2005 we have raised nearly $20,000!!! We are very proud of that and thank everyone for their continued support to make this year our most successful yet!

Relay For Life

Sorry to post again immediately, but I am doing Relay for Life and would love a donation from each of you! Relay for Life is run through the American Cancer Society and is an overnight relay were each team must have one person on the track at all times. Its tons of fun and obviously a great cause. So, please support me by donating at my website. You can either donate online through a credit card or print out a mail in form. Relay for Life is April 18-19th, so please donate before then. Thanks so much!

Spring Break at Cocoa Beach

I thought I would give you all an update on how the rest of my spring break went. Yes, it ended about a week ago, but I have been very busy catching up on all the work I didn't do while on break, so this has been my first chance to update the blog.

So, our week in Florida was GREAT! We relaxed, swam, surfed, tanned/burned, tattooed, pierced, and slept! Our hotel was much nicer than the Southern Inn. We stayed at the Radisson Resort, which had a nice pool and a tennis court right outside of our room. It was pretty cheap too, so perfect for us. It was about 2 miles from the beach, so we drove to the beach the few days we wanted to go there. Sunday, we sat at the pool for a while and then went and walked the beach and the pier. It was a little chilly that day (only in the 70s and breezy), so we didn't swim. That was right after many hours in the car, so we just relaxed and planned out the rest of our week. Monday we went to the beach, where only 3 of us swam (the other lame people just wanted to tan/burn), but the waves were really great and we had a blast. The beach was kind of crowded, but not too bad considering it was spring break. Then, we ate at a nice Italian restaurant and luckily sat by ourselves outside because we were really loud. We pretended it was our friend's birthday and had them sing happy birthday (this was a trend at every restaurant we went to) and got some cake.

Tuesday, it was cloudy and a little cool, but my friend Victoria and I were determined to take surfing lessons, so we drove to Ron Jon's Surf Shop (crazy big and open 24 hours) to sign up for lessons the next day. However, it was windy and the waves were getting too big, so we had to take the lessons that day. This was one of the highlights of my trip! I stood up on my first try, but on the wrong foot and got confused and fell. Then I stood up almost everytime after and could ride the wave all the way in until I basically stopped. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again. I kinda want to live somewhere where I can surf all the time now. Victoria did very well too, but we were exhausted at the end. Oh yea, and our instructor was really hot!

Wednesday the weather was beautiful, but windy, so we went to the beach. However, it was so windy that the sand was flying at us and it hurt and wasn't fun. We also walked along the beach and saw all of these blue jellyfish type things, called Portuguese Man O Wars, washed up everywhere. They apparently have a sting 20 times worse than a jellyfish, so we decided not to swim and went back to the pool. We had fun swimming and laying by the pool and relaxed more.

Thursday we were going to go to Universal, but it was too expensive and it was supposed to be rainy and cold, so we didn't want to go anywhere else. So, we chose that day to explore the area and go to other parts of the beach and other stores. It was fun and we ended up at a tattoo parlor. At this point, my friend Dominique decided to get a tattoo and Victoria and Rory got piercings. The tattoo artist was really good and had won awards. It took a long time and was painful for her, but came out great. Sorry to disappoint you if you thought I got something.

Friday we decided to spend time at the pool until about 2pm and then head to South Carolina. However, Dominique, Rory, and I are a little ADD and decided to go for a walk instead. We were walking down one street when we saw a private resort called Treasure Island and decided to sneak in. We followed a car through the gate and walked all around. It was very nice looking but boring until we decided to take pictures at a gazebo on the water and all of a sudden 3 or 4 manatees swam by! It was awesome, they poked their heads out and flipped their tails. Another highlight of my trip (you all know my obsession with animals).

Friday night, when we got to South Carolina, we visited Erica's friend Robert and he brought us to a gay club in Charleston. It was very crowded, very hot (especially on all of our sunburns), but a lot of fun. Then Saturday we drove 15 long hours all the way home.

Sorry the post was so long, but that's what happens when I'm working until 2am and want to procrastinate.

Fourth of July and misc. ramblings

Hi all,

I hope that the picture quality is better on the web site than on my preview page but here's a nice Robillard cousin pic!

I missed everyone on Easter - sounds like everyone had a good time though so that makes me happy. I had to suffer through 75 degrees and a cloudless sky but you all know I would much rather have been with you guys! I did get to meet up with Uncle Peter and Aunt Peggy on Thursday in Vegas for a bit which was awesome. We went out to eat and then to a piano bar for a bit. I would have liked to stay longer and have a few more beers, but when I noticed it was 1 AM and I had to work at 5 AM I decided to call it quits.
Anyway to keep everyone as up to date as I can - I'm still in Vegas building a Burberry store (you know, $500 belts, $1300 shoes, $300 scarves, $KKKK handbags) and will be here "until further notice." Since we are hoping to pass inspection tomorrow and open the store, I am hoping I will only be here a few more days. I am not scheduled for any projects after this is done - I was scheduled for a Burberry in Beverly Hills but apparently now that's not happening. So hopefully that means I'll get to go back to Boston for a few days/weeks/ever. Who knows though - I'll update when I find out. Either way while in NYC and now Vegas I have met up with family - hopefully I can keep the streak going. Erin I know that you're especially disappointed your not going to be able to vist me in 90210 (and I also know you don't read the blog so why am I writing this...) but we'll meet up or go on a trip somewhere, even if it's just to Patty's.

So the real reason I'm posting is because I'm planning my 4th of July vacation and wanted to know if anyone had their plans set yet... I want to take at least half a week off, probably a whole week... or two... The 4th is on a FRIDAY this year which kicks butt!!!! We have a MOTORBOAT this year (built for speed AND comfort)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it is a Robillard boat though so that means providing it's running! Anyways, I'm getting wicked pumped thinking about it and was wondering what everyone elses plans were for the 4th. Let me know what all your plans are! Let's all get together in Vermont for an awesome family Independence Day!!! PLEASE WHO EVER IS IN CHARGE DON'T RENT OUT THE CAMP EITHER WEEK AROUND THE 4TH.

Can someone fill me in on what an "elevator comedian" is? I don't get it.

Did you guys here the one about the rabbi, priest, lawyer, blond chick, poodle, and Santa Claus that walk into a bar? The bartender says, "What is this a joke?!?" hahahahahaha Pasteurized!!!

Happy Easter

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We were sorry we couldn't make it to celebrate with everyone, but look forward to seeing you all again soon. Dan & I had a great time in Cleveland, although it was pretty cold. Andrea spent Easter on Cape Cod, Kristin skiing at Stowe, and Mom & Dad in Vegas.

Here are a few pictures of our niece. Enjoy!

Southern Inn

Here's an entertaining story for all...

Spring break started today and 4 of my friends and I are driving down to Florida to stay at Cocoa Beach for the week. We were going to drive the whole way today, but when we got into South Carolina there was really bad weather and we started hearing tornado warnings on the radio. Since we had no clue what county we were in, we kept trying to use phone gps to figure out if we were in the tornado warning places. We finally figured out that we were uncomfortably close to the warning areas and decided to stay in a motel for the night. When we got here we actually found out that we've been following the storm for a while and it just passed through here like 20 minutes before we got here.

Now the entertaining part... after finding out the decent places are full for the night, we are staying in the "Southern Inn", which is probably the most sketchy place I've ever stayed. We were really excited to take showers until we noticed that there was hair in the tub and the sink looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. I touched the fridge and got sticky stuff on my hands. Our plan for now is to sleep on top of the covers and touch as few things as possible. The only good thing is free internet and its only $50 for the night.

I'll update you on the fun parts of our trip later. Have a good week everyone.

TECWAE I'm Baaaaack

This might be the all time funniest blonde joke!  I loved it!

> >
> > A woman heard that milk baths would make her beautiful. She left a note for her milkman to leave 25 gallons of milk. When the milkman read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought she probably meant 2.5 gallons. So he knocked on the door to clarify the point. The woman came to the door and the milkman said, 'I found your note asking me to leave 25 gallons of milk. Did you mean 2.5 gallons?' The woman said, 'I want 25 gallons. I'm going to fill my bathtub up with milk and take a milk bath so I can look young and beautiful again. The milkman asked, 'Do you want it pasteurized?' The woman said, 'No, just up to my boobs. I can splash it on my eyes.'

All I can say is......TGIF!!

Happy freaking Friday!!

Come with me on my Friday morning journey, which for 99% of you took place while you were WARM in bed with the sweetest of dreams. :-) It starts like this.....I had a training class this morning in the Bronx at 7 AM. I usually report to Manhattan in the morning, so when I have 7AM meetings in other boroughs, I have to come to Manhattan first to get my company car. This requires the alarm to go off at 4:45 AM, allowing me two 5 minute snoozes before showering. I have to leave the house at 5:35 to catch the PATH train. I head out this morning knowing the weather is cold and snowy, but all I have for shoes is white sneakers! That was my first mistake because NOBODY had shoveled the 2" of snow - I mean, it's not like I live in a commuter city or anything!! So, the best option is to walk in the middle of the road where there is no snow.

Now, lets flashback to yesterday. I had a very uncomfortable day yesterday with leg cramps all day long. My pants are getting tight so yesterday I took my belt off. I thought I wouldn't need it any longer. But, common sense should have told me that when you have a fat round stomach and your pants sit under your belly, all they will do is fall down. So, as I am walking down the middle of the road I cant keep my pants on and have to keep pulling them up. That entails lifting up my jacket which sits mid-thigh and using my cold @ss snowy glove to hike my pants back up. Only to repeat the process every block or so!! Gotta love it!

I finally get to the PATH train where I catch the train and head into the city. After that I catch a cross town bus to the office. But since the PATH left a minute late I missed my bus and had to wait a good 15 minutes before another one came. If I wasn't so lazy I would have gotten on another bus that stopped TWICE which drops me 2 blocks away, but NOPE, I waited for my bus!

I finally got to my office in Manhattan. Space is tight so we park 4 cars in 2 parking spots. Of course my car was in the back, but we all leave our keys so it isn't too big of a deal. But, I am running VERY late and still need to clean off my car - with the smallest ice scraper in the world! And you know what happens as you push all the snow off the car - of course it lands on your legs and feet (and my now BROWN sneakers!). And did you ever see a 5'3" person try to reach all the way across the front or back window, let alone the top of the car. It is pretty funny! Especially since I am STILL pulling my pants up every 3 minutes.

Alas - I get my car cleaned off and since it took so long the car is warm! I move the car in front of mine, pull my car out of the parking spot, move the other car back in, and off I go.....at 7:02 for 7AM meeting. Sweet! No sooner do I pull out of the parking lot and up to a red light that I feel my blackberry vibrate and check my E-mail to see that, you guessed it......my training has been cancelled!!! Are you kidding me? So, what's an annoyed, fat, pregnant woman to do. I went and got pancakes and a coffee and now sit in my office sharing my beautiful day with you!!

The only thing that will make this day better is when the phone rings in an hour and I hear two things from Andrea..... #1 - I can't believe you talked me out of buying those snow boots two weeks ago, and #2 - I got a snow day today! HaHaHa!

I hope your Friday is going much better than mine!

And, FYI, no exaggeration....I JUST got an E-mail from Andrea telling me she has a snow day. Kiss my @ss!!! :-)

Graduated Early

Sorry I didn't invite anyone, but my friends and I decided to graduate early. We also decided not to dress traditionally, by wearing crazy hats and jeans.

Okay, clearly that's a lie, but we did have a school celebration where we got to wear our robes and crazy hats. It's called Rally Day and they give awards to alumni who have done exceptional things since they left Smith. They gave awards to 5 alumni who graduated at various times from 1945 to 1980 and they were really interesting to listen to. There were two teachers, a congresswoman, the president of the American Chemical Society, and the last one, who Aunty Paula would have loved, was a doctor and a reverend, so there's hope for us all yet.

Anyway, it was really fun, but a little scary because I'm actually going to graduate soon. It gets a little more real everyday. eek.

Mark your calendar....

It seems like there are a lot of events popping up, let us know the dates so we can mark our calendars!
